Hen Hud lost 8-6. Sailors made great comeback attempt, down 8-0 as Bulldogs knocked out Mike Tandy, who pitched four innings before being replaced by Tepper.
Ray Longo hit a two-run homer, either in fifth or sixth and Hen Hud scored four more runs in seventh, forcing Beacon to replace Cervone with two outs and two on for Hen Hud in bottom of seventh but they couldn’t score any more.
It was cool to see Kirby Wright at the game, cheering on her alumnus, after playing softball at Nebraska this year, helping them make the NCAA’s.
I told her that next year that she will be the one hitting the grand slam to get her team to the finals of the college world series, like John Jay’s Ali Gardiner did this year for Florida against Alabama, who had another local player, Yorktown’s Cassie Reilly-Boccia.
Also, just got a text from the boss of this blog Rob, that Yorktown lost to Fox Lane 7-6 in 11.
